Ronald Naldi,
internationally acclaimed lyric tenor, has brought his art to the stages of the
Metropolitan Opera, Verona Opera, Opera da Camera of
Rome, L'Opera Francais, New
Jersey State Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Salzburger
Landes Theater. With the New Jersey State Opera, Mr.
Naldi has sung many roles including Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly , Beppe in Pagliacci and Count Almaviva
in Rossini’s Il barbiere
di Siviglia. He
performed in many other NJSOpera productions including Iris by Mascagni, and the world premiere
of Ulysses Kay’s Frederick Douglas His festival appearances include
Caramoor, Spoleto (Italy), and Waterloo. His symphonic
engagements include the Milwaukee, Miami, Minneapolis, and Buffalo
Orchestras among many. He has sung five World Premier operas
and the American premiers of three other operas; and performed the Metropolitan
Opera premier of Janacek's Makropulos
Case. In addition to performing adventurous new roles and little known
repertory, Mr. Naldi lists most of the grand lyric
tenor roles in his credits: the Duke in Rigoletto, Rodolfo in La
Boheme, Alfredo in La Traviata, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and Edgardo
in Lucia di Lammermoor.
Ronald Naldi is also heard on a variety of current
television commercials singing operatic selections, particularly for the Olive
Garden Restaurant. Mr. Naldi is on the roster of the
Metropolitan Opera. Mr. Naldi has recorded CDs of
Neapolitan and Italian songs, entitled Torna a Surriento and O
Sole Mio.
